Objectives
The Accounting Manager position will support the objectives of the Accounting and Finance Department by overseeing the day-to-day accounting including but not limited to Accounts Payable, Reporting and Analysis for both Mississauga and Woodstock locations.
Main Responsibilities
- Supervise accounting team members (AP & Accounting Analyst), including hiring, training, and ensuring compliance with company policies.
- Support and coordinate month end closing process.
- Review and approve AP invoices.
- Review AP posting, weekly payment run; ensure accurate and timely process.
- Maintain vendor & purchasing department relationship, respond to vendor and internal inquiry within timely manner.
- Monitor GR’s/POs ensure timely follow up and clearing.
- Investigate and follow up with outstanding items, discrepancies and other matters for solution should it arise.
- Prepare required monthly reports.
- Review and approve direct reports monthly account reconciliation.
- Implement and maintain internal controls for accuracy, completeness in accounts payable process as well as other
transactions. - Ensure SOX audit is completed in timely manner and compliance to internal policies and procedures.
- Assist with preparation of annual transfer pricing report.
- Perform financial analysis regarding business performance and assist with Annual business plan and periodic forecast
preparation. - Provide daily support to Accounts Payable team & other team members.
- Assist cash flow forecast, annual budget and other tasks as required.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
- Accounting Designation preferred, or close to completion.
- 5+ years of related professional experience, manufacturing an asset.
- Working knowledge of manufacturing accounting methods and principles.
- Excellent analytical skills, experience in analysing large volume of data and presenting findings to management.
- Attention to detail, well developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management, communication skills.(written/verbal).
- Efficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
- Self-motivated and demonstrates excellent work ethic and take ownership of AP and relevant processes.
- Knowledge of SAP an assets.
- Good Interpersonal communication skills.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to exercise initiative, good judgement, and discretion in all matters.
- Ability to work as a team and independently.
- Proven ability to work with staff members at all levels and act as team member.
- CPA or close to completion.
- Regular working hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm.
- Occasional overtime work required during month end and year end.
