Position Title: Accounts Payable
Department: Accounting & Finance
Reports To: Controller or Manager, Accounting & Finance
Position Location: Mississauga, ON

OBJECTIVES

This position supports the objectives of the Accounting and Finance team providing accounts payable tasks and assisting the accounting department with month-end closing and other related tasks.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Code suppliers’ invoices with G/L accounts upon the department managers’ approval,
  • Responsible for weekly cheque runs, printing, sorting, matching and distributing for signing ,
  • Process monthly rent payments for Mississauga and Woodstock plant,
  • Process Woodstock plant inventory and non-inventory invoices,
  • Reconcile vendor’s accounts and coordinate with Woodstock plant regarding receiving discrepancies,
  • Update BPO binder monthly,
  • Investigate and coordinate with HMM, Woodstock and suppliers regarding pricing discrepancies,
  • Assist with Employee’s Expense Reports processing,
  • Apply cash receipts for Parts payments,
  • Verify and process concession and commission payments in DSI, approved by Sales Administration and update Portal System,
  • Process Floor plan interests to dealers approved by the Sales Administration,
  • Month-end closing: Update DSI accounts payable module, run aged trial balance reports,
  • Perform other duties as required,

REQUIRED

  • Accounting diploma or training with 2+ years AP experience (3-way invoice matching)
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn
  • Good time management and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as a team and independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good memorization skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Regular working hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm
  • Occasional overtime required during month-end
