Greater Grand Crossing is one of 77 communities within Chicago, Illinois and is located on the city’s south side. The Greater Grand Crossing branch of the Chicago public library was opened in 2011 to serve a community that previously had been without a local library.
The custom designed and manufactured oversized, bright red bench acts as a beacon in front of the library, with the laser-cut phrase: “Knowledge grows in every season” reinforcing the invitation to the community to come learn at the library.
Materials: Laser cut steel
Specifier/Client: Hitchcock Design Group
