Many of our clients are accustomed to delivering their receipts, documents and other personal tax return information directly to our office.\u00a0 We are now using our convenient and secure portal to replace physical delivery, and provide detailed steps below for making this transition.\u00a0 Do know that we are here to help in any way we can.<\/p>\n

A. PORTAL REGISTRATION
\n<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Register for our secure portal if you do not have log in details already, email\u00a0portal@davismartindale.com<\/a>\u00a0to have an account created for you.<\/p>\n

B. CREATE DIGITAL FILES
\n<\/strong><\/h4>\n

There are\u00a0two options<\/strong>\u00a0to prepare your receipts and documents:<\/p>\n

Option 1<\/span>:<\/h5>\n

Create PDF files from physical documents<\/strong><\/p>\n

a. SCANNER<\/strong>: Use a scanner to save a PDF to your computer.
\nYou can change images to PDF\u2019s using free tools such as\u00a0Foxit Software<\/a>,\u00a0Small PDF<\/a>,\u00a0JPG2<\/a><\/p>\n

b. PHONE<\/strong>: Use your smart phone to take a photo of your documents in PDF
\nPhotos can be taken in PDF using special Apps. Download on your phone from the app store. There are many apps available including Camscanner, FineScanner, Genius Scan, Microsoft Lens, Scan Guru, and Turboscan.<\/p>\n

c. iPHONE or iPAD:<\/strong>\u00a0 Use the \u2018Notes App\u2019 on your device as a scanner.\u00a0 Open a new note, press the camera button, the option to scan document will pop up.<\/p>\n

d. BANK STATEMENTS:<\/strong>\u00a0Your bank offers the ability to download PDF\u2019s of your statements directly from the website without the need for additional software.<\/p>\n

Option 2<\/span>:<\/h5>\n

Use our\u00a0EXCEL template<\/a>\u00a0to summarize your business expenses, then upload the spreadsheet to the portal.<\/p>\n

C. UPLOAD TO THE PORTAL<\/h4>\n

After your documents\u00a0are prepared as above, log into the\u00a0portal<\/a>\u00a0and upload your documents from your computer or smart phone.\u00a0 We have provided a friendly and detailed\u00a0Portal User Guide<\/a>\u00a0for your reference on our website.<\/p>\n
